About Abby Reph

Firstly, it’s pronounced Repp.  Pretend the H isn’t there.  This vexes everyone, including me, when I met Mike.  Fully assumed he was Mike Ref.  What I’m saying is don’t blame yourself.

I am a 38-year-old woman who finds herself truly contented with her life at this moment; it is madness, messy, funny and predictable all at once, thanks entirely to our nine year old twins, our seven year old son, our five year old son, and our three year old daughter. I’ve been married for fifteen years to the love of my life and I’m grateful every day that we’re together.

Writing is a joy to me; the only problem is I fail to give it any of my time.  But that’s okay because it means my priorities are in order: the five little people who occupy my days come first in this season of life.  So I write when I make time.

It would be impossible to understand anything about me without first understanding that I love and try to follow Jesus every day.  He is the life, my grace, my strength.

The quote from which this blog’s name is derived is by Ralph Waldo Emerson.  Never let it be said that I don’t cite references.

I created this blog in May of 2009 with the intention of having a collection of writing, a place to practice writing, and to humor people, if only in little bits.

I stumbled onto your blog from the comment you left on The Motherlode about Drew Brees the other day (I follow that blog religiously even though I don’t have kids, weird huh?). What you wrote there was a breath of fresh air to me! It’s refreshing to see another young person like me put their faith out there so simply and honestly. I have really enjoyed everything I’ve read here; you are a great writer!

Thank you so much for the encouragement, Amanda! I too, follow Motherlode even though I don’t have children — it’s fascinating, for whatever reason. 🙂 I hope you’ll keep reading WBO; I look forward to your feedback/insight!

Hi Abbey, I’m a friend of Timsay and a self admitted blog enthusiast. I’m so happy that Linds recommended me to your blog. I’ve enjoyed the entries I’ve read so far and have saved it to my list of Google Reader feeds. Great job, I can’t wait to read more!
